Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving this year, everybody was there except for Rylee who was with her Dad. Everybody brought something and we ate and ate and ate. Later in the afternoon we went to the new James Bond movie. And this year guess what? Nobody got into a fight. It was a great day all around.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Our cute little Brynnly was very excited about halloween when she found out how much candy she could score. She was a ballerina and loved going from house to house picking out all the KitKat bars she could find. I don't know how she knows but she definately has an opionion about her candy. Rylee was so cute in her vampire outfit. She would come back from each house and announce what candy she got and then say "I love trick or treat".

TREVOR TURNS 18!!!

On October 30th Trevor finally turned 18. I'm not quite sure what he thinks is so magical about turning 18, but he has been excited. We had a family dinner and cooked "shrimp on the barbie" his favorite and his big present was a Ipod touch. Right now he is working with his Dad laying carpet and just hanging out with his friends.

Homecoming

Tricity is a Junior this year and Homecoming was her 1st formal dance. She is the baby of the family and the only one left in high school. She was so excited and she looked so beautiful in her dress. (Notice that she is on her phone texting someone.) They went to Tepanyaki for dinner and then to the dance. She had lots of fun, but I think the best part was getting all dressed up. Devery helped her with her hair and makeup and she looked so grownup.

I was asked if I was going to cry but I have mixed emotions. It's really amazing to watch each one of them move on to the next stage of life. Each one handles it differently and usually different then I expect. I really miss them all being little and me being the center of their lives. It was nice to put them to bed each night and knowing that they would still be there in the morning. Now I think it's alot harder. You can only give them advice when they ask and just be there for them after. I am proud of all my kids and love them all just as much. I can only hope their kids give them back what they gave me.

Brynnly has a birthday and she turned 1. She had a big birthday party and got lots of presents. She wasn't sure about eating her cake but she got the hang of it as you can see. She is so cute and lots of fun. She is very smart and active for her age. And one of the best things is that she is a Nana's girl. We like to do things together and she really doesn't care what we do. Grandkids are really one of the best things about getting older.

Tag - September 9, 2008

I always hated playing tag as a kid because I wasn't very fast and always felt bad when I got someone out but Devery tagged me and I guess if I am going to play this blogging game I need to play by the rules (and as my family knows I am very rule oriented). So here's the deal: Post these rules on your blog and list your 3 joys, 3fears, 3 goals, 3 facts about yourself, and 3 current obsessions/collections. Then tag 5 of your friends at the end of your blog by leaving their names. Let them know you tagged them by leaving a comment on their blog. The only difference is I don't have 5 friends so I will tag Chelsea and Sherri, Devery said that would be okay.

My 3 joys would be my husband, my children and my grandchildren - Rylee & Brynnly.

My 3 fears are growing old, Paul dying before me and losing one of my kids (either physically or emotionally).

My 3 goals are to raise my children to be happy and successful, to see China, and to be the best grandma ever.

My 3 facts about me is that I will defend my family to the death, I am right most of the time and I have a wicked sense of humor (asked Tricity).

My 3 obsessions are my scrapbook area, my love to organize things with shelves, and I have to eat pizza once a week.

Bear Lake

We had lot's of fun at Bear Lake this year. Chelsea, Rylee and Brynnly all worked on their wake boarding skills and Robby got up three times. Jeff tried some wake surfing which is real interesting to watch. He was really close to getting it but it was hard and wore him out. He would of had it if he could have tried again, but maybe next year. Paul tried really hard to get our boat seaworthy but it is 38 years old and needed a little more work than he had time for. Again, next year we will have it ready.
We just played in the water and on the wave runners and hung out together. We checked out Lee's wake boarding skills on his boat but the water was kind of rough for too much fancy stuff. I thought that the color of the lake is beautiful. The weather was a little difficult but the cabin we rented was really nice. Everybody had fun and just chilled. We really missed Zach (he had to work) it wasn't the same without him.

Timpanogos Hike

This is our family hike to Timpanogos Cave on the 24th of July. It was very far (alot harder than I remembered) and very exhausting, only Jeff, Robby and Trevor didn't complain. We of course, picked the hottest day of the year and the hottest time of the day. Jeff carried Brynnly in the backpack all the way up and back. She really had fun but didn't enjoy the inside the cave as much as everybody else.
Rylee was a real trooper and just kept on climbing she really liked the inside of the cave. After we came home and had Rumbi Grill for dinner. Yum!

Lagoon

On the 10th of August we went to Lagoon, we had lots of fun. As usual we had our share of injuries, Trevor stubbed his toe and peeled off the skin on the end of his big toe right when we got to Lagoona Beach (he hadn't even got in the water) he was sort of miserable all day and Chelsea caught her finger on the water slide and really bruised it but they recovered and made the best of it and everyone had fun. Rylee was big enough to go on all the ride and she even went on the roller coaster and thought is was awesome.

Ireland

Last May we went to Ireland, it was a wonderful trip. Everyone enjoyed something different about it but here are some of my favorite pictures. This picture is at the Birr Castle. We were in Ireland for two weeks and only saw a small part of the country I would like to go back again (but this time someone else would drive). I think if I ever had money I would like to travel around the world.

Welcome

This is the life in a day of the O'Bray family. All of the kids in our family think that we are normal but little do they know what normal really is. I decided to start a blog in hopes of preserving my sanity because I feel it is somewhat slipping, or perhaps is has slipped alot. But nevertheless - welcome and enjoy our normal life.
